With Sony having already confirmed to be releasing a “The Amazing Spider-Man” 3 and 4, what does this mean for the franchise? Will Pete be recast a few years down the road or something else?
What I mean to say is: Could we be seeing Miles Morales in the near future?
For those of you who don’t know, in the Ultimate Spider-Man timeline Peter Parker is killed by pretty much every villain, having come to his front yard and beating the crap out of him. (Remember, this is in a completely different timeline and the Ultimate universe had no effect on the original comics, which are still ongoing.)
After the death of Peter Parker, Miles Morales (a 13-year-old half Black/half Hispanic boy who is also bitten by a genetically modified spider) takes up the mantle and becomes Spider-Man.
If they do go this route: 1. I don’t think many people would understand what in the world was going on, and 2. While the inclusion of an African-American into the world of superheroes is exciting, I really don’t want to see Spidey die.
